One year ago today
A year ago today I went into labor. The trip to the hospital stopped a few feet outside of town, on the side of the road, where Shay was born in the front seat of the car into his mama's hands.
Two short minutes later, mom was notified of her new grandson and enlisted to help me walk from the car to the house.
It was November, so at 7:30 AM it was still dark. This first picture was our first good look at him. Then one with more light. Wrapped in a diaper and Mama's arms. Dressed. Besides his nose, he looks just the same.
It was a busy day. Sara had missed a chiro appointment in all the excitement so we stopped there on our way to Shay's doctor. Everyone at the OB's office laughed when we showed up for our regularly scheduled appointment with baby in hand.
I hope that most of Shay's birthdays are a little less busy.

Wow! What a day that was! And what an adorable newborn he was! I'm so glad he was born.
What a beautiful post! Happy birthday, Shay!!
Thanks! I'm glad, too. Y'all had your hands pretty full a year ago, too.
Thank you. All day long the kids asked if he knew what a special day it was.
