Boys in costume. Shay doesn't hold still anymore for Thing 1 and Thing 2 pictures. Then in the evening they went to a Halloween party in town with Sara. Soren won most original again as a bucket of candy and Shay enjoyed being a train conductor.

What did she eat?

At the mall.

I don't know how Soren got the computer, but I found this scene amusing.

Shay tried to get in the stroller. He liked the trike well enough and Soren moved on to the swing.

Sweet sleeping faces.

Happy almost birthday

Shay had a hard time opening gifts from Ra Ra and Bubba so he needed quite a bit of help. He fell asleep before we could light the candle so we had cake (brownies) after breakfast. The cake didn't keep him going for long, and Shay was asleep before Ra Ra and Bubba left. Soren makes Ra Ra faces from time to time, but this isn't one of them.

Chili and the park

The chili and chili shaped cookies were a hit.

At the park Soren suddenly sprouted hair! Where did that come from?

Big man on campus

The president came to town today. We waited in the most spectacular line I've ever seen. Two hours and probably at least a mile long to an event with airport security (no bags! No liquids!). We couldn't see any of the speakers. Ari took a picture from Sara's shoulders before playing in the dirt. They made an O for Obama. Osha ran crazy through the crowd and had sword fights with sticks with the other children who had no hope of seeing (he also got a chance on Sara's shoulders, he thought he saw the president's hair). The babies and I were photographed by a newspaper photographer and when she asked what I thought about President Obama coming to town my mind went blank and I gave the single worst answer of my life. "Um, I like him? I hope he wins the election?"

Maria was kind enough to send me the last two pictures, so I know he was really there.
